How to get there: When you are walking in the istiklal street you can easily find it opposite side of the St Antuan Church it is in a small street with a rainbow signboard. When you enter that narrow street you can easily see it at the end of the street.








It is nicer when you go in the summer time because they put tables and the chairs outside, you can enjoy the weather while drinking. Even though on the sign board they prefer to call it as a sugar club it is better to call it is a cafe. It has two floors and the second floor is generally empty the prices are reasonable. It can be a good choice for you in a tiring early evening. They also have wireless internet.
 


Chianti (16:00-02:00)
Istiklal Caddesi, Balo Sokak No: 31. (2nd floor) Beyoglu, Istanbul



How to get there: When you are walking in the Istiklal street from the taksim to the tunnel you will find Balo Sokak two streets before the famous “Çiçek Pasajı” It is in the second floor of the building.






Chianti is mostly crowded in the early evenings and right before the midnight. If you don`t like to stay awake until the late morning and you don`t like high volume underground music it can be a good choice for you. The local drinks are around 4 Euros. You can find Live Turkish music every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting around 10 pm. You can be more comfortable if you are sick and tired of seeing the rent boys around. They have a tiny terrace if you are smoker. 



Frappe Cafe & Restaurant  (09:00- 24:00)
Istiklal Cad. Zambak Sokak  No.10/A Beyoglu/Istanbul




How to get there: It is on the same street with two other gay clubs Other Side and Club 17. After you enter the Istiklal Street take the first right street after the French consulate you can find the café at the end of the street.






It is a small venue but you can find many different types of drinks and the foods. If you don’t want to have a surprise when you get the bill, It is highly advised to check the menu for prices before ordering anything. 


Morkedi (10:00-24:00)
İstiklâl Caddesi, İmam Adnan Sokak 7/3




How to get there: After you enter the Istiklal Street you will find the Imam Adnan Sokak on the 4th right handed street. It is on the third floor of the building there is an internet café at the same building.






Morkedi is like a classical place in the gay life of Istanbul. It has been existed for many years and has many gay and lesbian costumers. The atmosphere is warm and it has affordable prices. 


Besinci Kat (09:00 – 24:00)
Siraselviler Caddesi, Soganci Sokak, No: 7/1, Cihangir Beyoglu



How to get there: When you walk in the Siraselviler Caddesi pass the Alman Hastanesi (German Hospital) the street is on your left side right after the hospital. You can easily find the sigh of the place, there used to be a gaybar called as barbahce at the same building. Besinci Kat is in the fifth floor.






The prices might be little bit more expensive than the other places but the quality of the place explains the extra costs you pay. It has a very nice bosphoros view and you can see the asian side from there. It is not a gay cafe but a gayfriendly place you can see many straight people and especially many women. They have an open air-terrace for smokers and enjoying the summer evenings. 



Chill Out Cafe (12:00- 24:00)
Istiklal Cad. Balyoz Sok. No:17 Beyoglu




How to get there: On the Istiklal Street right after you cross the Dutch Consulate you will find it on the second right hand street. You can easily find the sign Chill Out Hostel&Café






It is actually a hostel but it also has a small cafeteria at the entrancy of the hostel. It is not a place for deliberately to meet gay people but it is gay friendly and that place is preferred by many gay people in order to have a drink and chat with their friends. 




Nays (11:00-23:00)
Kocaaga Sokak 19A Cukurcuma/Istanbul



How to get there: From the Istiklal Street when you enter the Sadri Alisik Sokak it is the second street on your left side. The entrancy is down the stairs you might have trouble to find it.







If you dont want to be in big places and looking for something tiny and cute nays might be a very choice for you. You can be surprised how small it is but the close tables makes it easier to communicate with the other people in the other tables. It is famous with its creps and the prices are affordable. You can take your laptop and use their wireless or you can have a breakfast or drink something while reading your book.
